Books So Bad They're Good: Mental Health Day

As threatened a few days ago, there will be no diary this week.  I feel awful about this - it's the first one I've missed in close to eighteen months of diaries - but the following hit this week and all my attempts at writing more than one or two coherent paragraphs were, to be charitable, not up to scratch:

- The death of an old friend of kidney failure on Tuesday.  Her wake and funeral were today, about two hours from my house, and between the drive and the emotion, I barely knew my own name when I stumbled in the door.

- I was a victim of the Barnes & Noble data theft, and had to spend most of Thursday signing paperwork, filing police reports, calling credit bureaus, and arranging for there to be enough money in my bank account to cover my bills for the end of the month.  Fortunately I bank at a small, local bank where the managers and tellers know me by name, so the process is being expedited - but man oh man, this whole thing sucks rocks.

The one good thing is that the people who ended up with my debit card information seem to have been a) college students (they bought movie tickets, paid a cable bill, and feasted at Joe's Crab Shack on my dime, which isn't what professionals would have done) and b) idiots (one of them put down a deposit on an apartment using my information, which is plain stupid).  If these had been professionals I'd be in very, very deep kimchi, as they say.

- A couple of my co-workers were out this week and I had to pick up the slack.  Go, me.

So...there may be a pinch hit/replacement tomorrow, or it may be a bye weekend.  Either way, BSBTG will be back next Saturday, same bat time, same bat channel.  Thank you for your indulgence and understanding, and have a good night!

Peace,

Ellid
